Capacity
Often times when people reference the size of an air conditioner, they are not talking about its physical dimensions or weight, but rather the size of its capacity. When talking about an air conditioner’s capacity, simply put it is what amount of cooling & heating output the model can produce.
This capacity is communicated as a kilowatt (kW) capacity figure, and as a general rule of thumb the greater the kW capacity, the greater the area the system can heat or cool.
A clear understanding of the capacity of an air conditioning unit ensures you are able to make an informed decision as to whether or not it is suitable for the space you want to condition, allowing you to avoid making a potentially costly mistake.
