How time flies! Did you know that we’ve been in our new Marsden Park HQ for almost a year already?
There’s been a number of exciting developments since we made the move in June 2018 that we thought we’d share with you.
We survived our first summer in the new facility, and what a summer it was! Daytime temperatures reached into the high 30s and low 40s throughout the east coast and northern Victoria early in the season. The hottest day recorded was 49.6 degrees in South Australia. It was no wonder that the summer period saw our highest build rates ever achieved as a business, and most units ever dispatched in a single day, absolutely smashing our previous high set back at our Bella Vista facility.
As productive as the summer period was, one of our core areas of focus was on improving Commercial lead times, where we’re pleased to have achieved a decrease from 30 working days (30/11/18) to our current 15 working days lead time on standard commercial units, a result we’re extremely pleased to share with you.
The 2018 Platinum Dealer Conference saw 130 of our valued Dealers and staff pass through our doors and be treated to a guided tour of the facilities. It was important to us that our Dealer base got a first look before the official opening, and with the theme of the conference being ‘Homegrown’, we were proud to showcase our new home.
The RACTA Conference 2018 was held onsite allowing Registered Training Organisations, such as TAFE, an opportunity to discuss the direction of national training packages, future improvements to the training system, and how training can be delivered. The attendees included influencers for our future technicians and apprentices, so we were happy to help out, even going so far as to provide a forum consisting of our product managers and Service Technicians to provide their input.
On 14th September 2018 we were joined by the Honourable Gladys Berejiklian, NSW Premier, to officially open the new facility. The Premier made particular note of how proud she was that NSW played host to the ‘Aussie success story’ that Actron represents; a business that was started all the way back in 1984 by Garry Mundy in his garage at Winston Hills, and she highlighted the important role that ActronAir plays today as a significant provider of jobs and skills to many Australians, both in Western Sydney and throughout the country.
It’s our hope that some of the Actron staff may one day take the step of starting their own business, as Garry did 35 years ago. We know full well that it’s possible for Australian businesses to compete successfully with our global competitors, and it’s something we are extremely passionate about supporting.
In September this year we will be hosting the Sydney Hills Business Chamber’s ‘Business After Five’ evening. Tickets can be purchased by visiting their website http://www.sydneyhillsbusiness.com.au/
Marsden Park is a massive milestone for our business, and it took an abundance of strategic organization, planning, stress, and effort, and a lot of hard work from countless staff and partners, not to mention patience from our valued customers, and as we reflect on the project we again would like to pass our thanks through to all of you – you all played a role in this achievement, and it’s truly appreciated.
We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to be working out of truly world-class, state-of-the-art facilities, and are proud to share our new home with our ever expanding customer base.
